1 # Friendkit 2 3 [friendkit.app](https://friendkit.app) 4 5 Friendkit is a tool to help you sort and manage your friends. It runs completely offline in your browser, and the only place your data is shared is with your own home server. 6 7 # Privacy 8 9 **A note on privacy:** Given the (rightful) privacy sentiments on the fediverse, it’s important to note that this is **not** trying to be a search engine. You can filter your friend list but these filters only apply to accounts you already follow or those who follow you, and they only match on public profile fields. Lists cannot be exported, and none of this data ever leaves your browser. 10 11 We also include a feature to blur accounts on filtered pages so you can share screenshots safely and reduce the risk of exposing sensitive information. 12 13 This is a personal tool for managing your own network, so I’m confident these controls pose a low privacy risk. If you disagree or have a specific concern I’ve missed, please drop me a line at [@ash@bne.social](https://bne.social/@ash)/[friendkit@kyd.com.au](mailto:friendkit@kyd.com.au). 14 15 # Usage with non-Mastodon servers 16 17 While most fediverse software uses a Mastodon-compatible API, this app was built for Mastodon first (mostly because that’s the only account I have for testing). 18 19 It has been reported to work well with **GoToSocial**, though the "last posted" dates might not show up correctly. 20 21 Bug reports and pull requests for compatibility are welcome! If you send one, it helps to include reproduction steps and a copy of your follow/following payload (where appropriate) for debugging. Just keep in mind that there’s no warranty, and I might not be able to fix every issue for every type of software. 22 23 Either way, I hope you find Friendkit useful. Feel free to share it around!
