It is built for quick captures, journaling, navigation, habit tracking, developing writing skills and connecting This system requires the Dataview and Templater plugins. 7 8 >[!info] Shortcut 9 >Press Cmd + D to open your daily note at any time. 10 11 If you want your vault set to automatically open the daily note for each day on startup, you can enable it by going to 12 Settings > Core Plugins > Daily Notes - toggle Open daily note on startup. 13 14 ![[open-daily-note-on-startup.png]] 15 16 ### Logging captures 17 In the writings prompts section of the daily note is a `Title:` which should be given to that note as a short description of that day. The journal section begins with a ```Summary::``` snippet which is a caption summarizing the journal entry for that day. Both the title and summary of the daily note will be displayed along with the date in the [[Journal Index]], so that the daily notes can be easily back referenced in the archive with a description. 18 19 Whatever content you add after the various metadata fields in the logs will be populated automatically in the [[Logbook|Logbook]]. This acts as a hub to review insights you collected throughout the week and makes it easier to process your captures into [[5.9 Main note|main notes]]. 20 21 Optional metadata queries include: 22 - ``Fleeting::`` Insert anywhere to capture a fleeting note without making a new note. 23 - ```Motivation::``` Something that motivated you today, or words of encouragement you'd like to tell your future self. 24 - `Achievement::` This is how you log an achievement you made that day 25 - `Gratitude::` Track things that you are thankful for each day. 26 27 If you want to change any of these queries to log something else or add your own, you can do that by copying the code Dataview code blocks for the existing queries and editing the data accordingly. 28 29 When you delete the Daily Notes example files, it will delete the data from the [[Journal Index]] and various logs as those are Dataview tables. 30 31 >[!tip] How to add Todoist integration into your daily note 32 >1.
