1 INT. OBCO OFFICE - DAY 2 ====================== 3 4 ObCo programmers are sitting at their cubicles in an "open office", 5 tapping at their keyboards, most with head phones on. It's hard core 6 geek-central. Three people are standing next to the water cooler. 7 8 > PROGRAMMER ONE 9 >> Have you heard about the news? 10 11 > PROGRAMMER TWO 12 >> About the warehouses? 13 14 > PROGRAMMER ONE 15 >> Yeah, everything's stopped, in California at least. 16 17 > ALAN 18 >> It is very worrying. Could it be a bug in our system? 19 20 > PROGRAMMER ONE 21 >> Can't see how. We haven't shipped any new versions in weeks. 22 23 Suddenly the doors are opened with some force and a loud noise. A couple 24 of dozen men in dark suits come in. We see agents HARRISON and JONES 25 come in in the rear guard. Some of the men have drawn their guns and 26 hold them in a readiness position, pointing them at the ceiling. 27 28 > AGENT JONES 29 >> Everybody stop what they are doing. This is the FBI. Stop doing 30 >> anything and listen to me. I am agent Archie Jones. I want everyone 31 >> to get up and walk quietly to stand next to the wall. 32 33 Those of the ObCo workers that notice look a bit confused. The rest, 34 lost in their headphones, keep tapping away. Agent Jones nods to DARK 35 SUIT 1 who walks up behind a programmer wearing headphones and touches 36 her head with the tip of the gun. The programmer stops typing and snaps 37 around with a snarl. Startled to see it's a real gun, she raises her 38 hands up. DARK SUIT 1 lifts off the head phones with the gun. The 39 programmer looks around. Slowly, and then more urgently the rest take 40 notice and, removing their headphones, do as they're told. ALAN walks 41 over to JONES. 42 43 > ALAN 44 > <br> (Familiar. Relaxed.) 45 >> Hey Jones, what's going on? 46 47 > AGENT JONES 48 >> Hello, Alan. We have reason to believe that ObCo may be connected to 49 >> the suspected terrorist attack against warehouses today. Sorry to 50 >> barge in like this, but we can't take any chances, not in a terrorist 51 >> situation. 52 53 > ALAN 54 >> Sure, I understand. How can I help? 55 56 > AGENT JONES 57 >> We're going to have to check all your computers. Agent Harrison here 58 >> is head of the computer forensics team. Can you give him all 59 >> passwords he needs? 60 61 > ALAN 62 >> Of course, if you have the proper writ. 63 64 > AGENT HARRISON 65 >> Here. 66 67 ALAN studies the document and nods. 68 69 > ALAN 70 >> It seems to be in order. Whatever you need, just ask. We'll help as 71 >> well as we can. 72 73 > AGENT JONES 74 >> Knowing you, Alan, I never expected anything else. We'll also need to 75 >> go through your personnel files and discuss everyone's background 76 >> with you. We can do that while Harrison's team looks into your 77 >> computers. 78 79 > ALAN 80 >> All right. I'll go get the master password list from the safe first. 81 82 Alan goes fetch the master password list from the safe, while FBI agents 83 clear a conference room and other agents spread around the office to 84 start looking into computers. The programmers stand around with their 85 hands in their pockets, whispering.
