# Patisserie

The one-stop-cake-shop for finely-tuned Nix

## Goals

- We aim to write opinionated modules: they should work great by default, but
	may not be what you want if you have restrictive requirements
- We aim to make these easily-modifiable for upstreaming into
	[Auxolotl](https://auxolotl.org). The modules we upstream will need to be
	modified to be less-opinionated (and opinionated stubs left in our tree), but
	overall shouldn't need much further configuration
- We aim to never apply anything without your enabling it, and never apply
	dangerous changes without you explicitly accepting the danger

## Non-goals

- We don't aim to make modules for everything, only things that we may want to
	use. We don't believe we can make our best modules without dogfooding
- We don't aim to make our modules customizable for every use-case. If you want
	that, work towards upstreaming to Auxolotl or use nixpkgs
- We don't aim to be compatible with nixpkgs, beyond any explicit compatibility
	helpers we write. You can't use `nixpkgs.lib.nixosSystem` and expect our
	modules to work
